Historical reenactment in honour of Our Lady of Monserrato:

Every year in Porto Azzurro, on the 8th of September there are celebrations in honour of Our Lady of Monserrato.

The town dwellers participate in a historical march by wearing period clothes and reenacting the grandeur of the Spanish Empire. A grand costume and folklore performance offering the locals and tourists an exciting jump back in time which culminates with the religious procession that leads the believers from Monserrato pine tree to the peak of the Sanctuary.

The Casale di Monserrato is a key participant in the final stage of the event, as it organises a party inside its Spanish garden open to all the people involved, and where, upon request, its guests can attend as well.
